Specialist of the Year honor.

Banquet Honors JISD Campuses

The Chamber recognized JISD campuses for their
academic achievements.

JISD junior makes All-State
Spencer Jay, an oboe-playing junior at
Jacksonville High School, was selected to the
Texas All-State Band. He is one of the 125
students who will play in the 4A All-State Band
out of about 2,500 who originally competed
for a spot.

Wardell receives positive evaluation
JISD Board of Trustees president James Houser
said a rare moment occurred prior to
the meeting when people who read about
Wardell’s evaluation called in to offer their
own positive opinions on the superintendent’s work.

positive TASBO review
Texas Associate of School Business Officials
representatives graded JISD’s maintenance,
grounds, custodial and warehouse departments this
year on their services and competency levels.

Nichols, JHS notified of honors before break

at the helm of JISD, superintendent Stuart Bird is retiring.

The community is invited to a public reception at the
Jacksonville Middle School Library on May 13, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
to wish him farewell.
